CBME

Competency Based Medical Education

New Indian MBBS
Curriculum

Competency based medical education (CBME) has been implemented in India since 2019 & centered on the need for creating competent physicians (multidimensional, contextual and developmental).

CBME is learner-centered and adaptive to the changing needs of students, teachers and society where learning activities and environments are chosen to enable the learners to acquire and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes to the situations they encounter in everyday life.

NBE

Competencies: The habitual and judicious use of communication, knowledge, technical skills, clinical reasoning, emotions, values, and reflection in daily practice for the benefit of the individual and community being served.

CBME emphasizes on the complex outcomes of a learning process rather than mainly focusing on what learners are expected to learn about in terms of traditionally-defined subject content.

Why is it mandatory for medical colleges to

IMPLEMENT THE CBME?

NMC Licence

All the medical Universities should implement CBME to retain their NMC recognition /Licence.

NEXT
(National Exit Test)

NEXT (National exit test): The common entrance exam for all the Indian medical graduates to be implemented in 2023-24 will be exclusively based on the CBME and the NEXT pass percentage is going to be the determining factor of the future business of every medical university
