AETCOM Training
at JZMU, China (2013)

Challenge:

Medical students often lacked hands-on clinical experience and structured mentorship early in their training, impacting their readiness for patient interaction and professional development.

Our Approach:

We supported JZMU in implementing a multi-layered curriculum reform including:

Early Clinical Exposure (ECE)

Integrated as part of a Longitudinal Clinical Experience, offering students real-world clinical interactions from early stages of training.

Near-Peer Mentorship Program (NPMP)

Embedded within the SNACS/SPECS support program, connecting junior learners with trained senior peers for academic and emotional support.

AETCOM
Training

Focused on Attitude, Ethics, and
Communication, delivered through
Case-Based Learning (CBL) with
interactive roleplaying to enhance
professional behaviors and empathy.

Impact:

Students developed clinical confidence, communication skills, and ethical reasoning while experiencing sustained mentorship throughout their learning journey.
